Excellent! Along with the adventure & romance was history. The history of our Native Americans and how they were treated is so very sad. Ms. Ackerson wove the threads of this story into a beautiful tale. Can’t wait to read her next one.

This was a fun read. I read it on a trip to …
This was a fun read. I read it on a trip to Florida after stocking my Kindle with romances to read while on the beach. I enjoyed the magical elements of Across the Wilderness such as, the antique bed which allows the heroine to time travel when she sleeps. It reminded me of the bed in the movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks movie except this one is set in a romance novel and takes the heroine to the western United States smack dab into Indian country. If you went to sleep in a magical bed which could take you back in time where would you hope it would take you? This was just one of the questions which entered my mind in between reading the story.
I like stories which engage my imagination in this way and this one kept me wondering. I kept wondering when and where she would wake up and what adventures and challenges she would face next. And that for me, was fun.

I loved this story so much! However, it ended way too soon, I wanted to see them reunite and help the people (Indians). Why couldn’t you have made it longer? Authors do this quite often, and it saddens me. But I will read this story over again often, you can count on that. Any who read this wonderful story needs first to read the first book in the Wilderness series. If you don’t, you will miss so very much that will help you understand book 2. Enjoy reading both as I have.

WAS I SURPRISED
I am a historical researcher and never ever read Romance or Science Fiction for pleasure – never that is until I downloaded the book thinking it was just another Western.
It turned out to be both. It’s well written with many twists and turns, factual time period descriptions, and a most enjoyable storyline. I’ll be purchasing the books remaining in the Wilderness Series.

Didn’t know if I would like this, so I just purchased Book One and really enjoyed the mix of historical fiction and time travel. Now have the next two books loaded on my Kindle and hope they too are as fun to read. Every nation in the world got their power through conquest. Even Native Indians have that history. Pamela Ackerson has put a human face on that struggle in a very creative way that allows the reader to have their feet in both the past and present. Highly recommend!

The time-travel saga continues with book 2.
A magnificent, timeless adventure that tugs at the heart weighs the soul, and measures the human strength and spirit. The Wilderness time travel series continues with this historically detailed story of love, war, and fantastic adventure.
Dr. Karen Anderson returns to the past, to the Lakota and her life with Standing Deer. The Little Big Horn Battle – Custer’s Last Stand looms, ending a lifestyle the People have always known. Over the span of time, they fight for freedom and the promise of tomorrow.
