To say I love this book is putting it mildly. Very rarely does a book pull me in so completely. I found myself reading it slowly. I savored it, enjoyed it, and did not want to rush through, and yet toward the end I could not put it down and I stayed up way past my bedtime to get to the climatic ending.

The use of dialect was very well done. The character development was exceptional and the author lead me down quite a path as I watched Rhona change from a young person I disliked to a mature woman I admired. My favorite character was the twisted laird himself, Edan. He was a brave and honest man of honor, who did whatever he had to do to take care of his tightly knit little clan. His goals and struggles were fascinating to me.

I’m trying to not give away spoilers. I was so excited to finish the book and realize there are more books in the series! You can bet I’ll be reading more from this author!

You will quickly learn to decipher a thick Scottish brogue in Rhythm and Blues, and thoroughly enjoy doing so. It’s a love story about a former bad boy musician who meets the woman of his dreams after a freak motorcycle accident.

There are parts that will make you clutch at your heart because the inner workings of Lurch’s mind are so sweet when he thinks about a possible life with Cate. He’s torn over his bad boy past, and worried he’s not good enough for the young and beautiful green-eyed red head, and I found it incredibly touching.

The Macgrough Clan is a bundle of laughs even when the going gets rough. I remember them fondly from “Wired for sound” another Macgrough book, and it felt like I was meeting old friends again. This is more of an action packed thriller, as Lori gets kidnapped and Hamish has to use all the tricks up his sleeve to get her back.

The characters have grown from the last time I met them. Though they’re still a bit of a kick ass bunch, they have sobered down a lot and got more responsible. I love the accent (I actually hear it in my head as I read) To find Lori, Hamish has to travel all the way across to The U.S.A and Canada which are not his stomping grounds. He has to make do with what he can.

Cherime Mcfarlane makes the characters lovable and quirky, She knows a lot of information on varied subjects or she’s really done a lot of excellent research. This book is a well written, fast paced adventure which you will love. It is totally unputdownable, so get ready to stay up late as the author take you to a thrilling finish. An exciting and engrossing read!

This chapter set the scene for the disappointment experienced by one of the protagonists. Bare Wires starts as two journeys with two distinct voices. Lori is an American artist living in the UK while Hamish is a Scottish musician and band manager. Both face struggles in their life and by the time their paths finally cross, they are feeling more in control. An interesting love story and prequel to Wired for Sound.
