One cursed diary will change two strangers forever…

Merideth Monroe was born to a wealthy politician; luxury was her middle name. The happiest childhood, the finest schools, and landing her dream career; her future couldn’t have been brighter. She didn’t care that her mother wanted a different path for her; but when her mother is murdered and she appears to be next, nothing in her flawless life will matter.

Rider Bradshaw lived a carefree existence. Ex-military, he only wanted out of his family’s shaded history and chose to leave the sins of their past behind. However, when a girl he’s never heard of is placed in his charge by his father, protecting her becomes his obsession and keeping her safe his only reality.

Can Meri and Rider use her mother’s old book to figure out why someone is after them? Or will the guilty party succeed, ripping the tome away before killing them and then slithering back into the darkness…

Another great book by Samantha Jacobey

I love the way Samantha Jacobey brings her characters to life. In “The Binding” Meredith finds herself with a lot of questions: a book, her father, her mother, and Rider. Will she be able to sort everything out?

The Binding kept me going! I couldn’t put it down!

I highly recommend this book!

Leah was a rebel. She chose to live her life outside the constraints of 19th century English society. She rebuked any parental control and choose to decide her own fate. From England to the Caribbean and then frontier America, she was loved by family and friends yet still had enemies. Sailing the seas with pirates lurking about helped chisel her character as she created a life of her own near the sea.
Explore the scenic countries with Leah and learn about the native cultures and taste their delicacies. As a mixed race female, she placed prejudices under her feet and learned to recognize and accept love even if it was against the law.

Great epic story of love, life and loss

This is a well written, interesting story of love, life and the heart ache that comes with it. Leah is a woman who leads an interesting, but at times sad life. Readers are lucky to be allowed to follow along on her journey that crosses continents and includes danger as Leah learns to deal with heartache linked to romance in a book that readers are going to enjoy. The author does a great job with this historical romance that has many other genres linked in the pages.

No one knows what came first, man or dragon, but throughout history, man feared the great fire-breathing beast, terrified of its breath and its claws. Man ran long and far from the winged serpent until he came to a land rich and fertile, green where the dragon’s lands were blackened with the ash of its fire.
The dragon didn’t follow.
Until now.
She was out picking fruits to see her people through the winter months, innocent in her adventuring, never expecting to come upon a beast in the woods, one so great and mighty he was more myth than reality.
He frightened her, and in her fall, he saved her life.
Why would a creature, reported to be the very basest of evils in the world, stop to save the life of a girl he didn’t know? Couldn’t care about?
How could she not return the favor when his life came into question by her people?
Ciandra, Daughter of the Darkness, Elf of the Forest.
Trinigon FyreBreath, the Great Red Dragon.
A forbidden affair that could cost them their lives, but how can they say no when the Dragon’s Sacrifice has no fear of the flames?

“The Void” by Marta Moran Bishop – #Literature&Fiction, #GenreFiction, #Horror, #Occult

Marta the void 5-7-18.jpg

The Void, the first true paranormal short story written by Marta Moran Bishop, is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock or the Twilight Zone of later days.

It will take you deep into the mind and heart of someone either living through a serious mental illness or something mysterious and dangerous resides in the void.

Many years before, Altori and her sister Helen moved into the village. Last year during the night of no moon Helen went out into the void and nearly died. A terrible disease spread through her body. She ran away to escape the possibility of death at the hands of the frightened villagers.

Will Altori survive the void and find her sister? Did Helen ever exist or is Altori suffering from a mental illness?

A very intriguing paranormal story.
By Leyla Atke
The Void by Marta Moran Bishop is a mystical, paranormal story about two unfortunate girls, sisters Altori and Helen. Helen disappears during the night of no moon in the void and Altori thinks about her sister all the time, trying to understand what had happened to her. She is sure that Helen is alive but where is she? Suffering from her hard work and unfortunate life, Altori falls into a trance several times and meets her sister Helen who is in awful physical condition but still alive. Sisters miss their parents and try to find out where their home is. In the non-moon void night, sisters make a journey carrying a cryptic box, their legacy. Using the items that were in the box, Altori makes a rite of purification at the end of which a mystical power carries both sisters home.

I love this paranormal story and the feeling of uncertainty it leaves. And yes, it is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock or the Twilight Zone. It is still not clear whether the events described in the book occurred in the material or immaterial world. Was what is happening a sick imagination of Altori, whose life in the material world was so terrible? It still remains a mystery that only makes the book even more intriguing.

And I must say that it turned out to be a great decision. I could see early on
By Lucidity
Wow, what an adventure! Admittedly, I’m usually not a big fan of these kinds of books (I tend to stick to the sci-fi and romance genres), but I decided to give “Cross-Ties” a chance and go into the read with an open mind, and I must say that it turned out to be a great decision. I could see early on, within the first few chapters, that the author is truly talented when it comes to weaving words into stories. The prose flows in a very smooth manner while conveying everything in a very vivid way – I personally found it easy to visualize many of the scenes and also empathize and understand the feelings of Leah, the protagonist. I highly recommend ‘Cross-Ties’ to readers looking for a genuinely immersive and adventurous read. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for future releases by Carolyn M. Bowen.
