Sexy Cop and Sweet Tattoo Artist
Oh my god. This book. All the feels. ALL. THE. FEELS. After running across the recommendation for Trish Edmisten in another author’s Facebook group I read book one in the Nice Ink series. After finishing that book (a five-star read) I immediately grabbed this book and devoured it! Derek and Flynn, the main characters of this book, were introduced in book one. Derek is a cop (hot gay guy with handcuffs) and Flynn is a tattoo artist (hot gay guy covered in ink). Derek initially meets Flynn when he gets a tattoo from one of Flynn’s coworkers (who ends up dating Derek’s brother), and is immediately attracted to him. Flynn is attracted to Derek but is resistant to become involved with anyone. Flynn is an abuse victim and his feelings about attraction and sex are very complicated. Flynn is “coerced” into a date with Derek, but finds himself enjoying the date. Derek quickly realizes he must approach his relationship with Flynn differently. He makes Flynn realize that he wants more from him than just sex. He wants all that Flynn has to offer.
I absolutely devoured this book. I stayed up too late, was reading at work, and sitting in my car on my lunch break to finish this book. Flynn is such a sensitive soul. He suffered so much in his childhood. He fought for himself and has overcome so much. Derek is a self-assured, openly gay cop. He is naturally protective and is devoted to his family. Ms. Edmisten did such an amazing job building, describing, and bringing these characters to life. The understanding, compassion, and support that Derek showed to Flynn brought literal tears to my eyes. And of course, the sexy times are HOT HOT HOT! And there is a HEA for this amazing couple. I can’t recommend this book and this series enough! Read it now!!

Another winner!!!
Ride or Die is the second book in the Nice Ink series, though it can be read as a standalone. All of the featured characters from the first book play a role is this book too. The two main characters, Derek and Flynn actually met in the first book. Although Derek showed an interest in Flynn from their first meeting, Flynn’s feelings were not known. In Ride or Die, we find out that Flynn returns Derek’s interest, but won’t act on it, for reasons of his own. Despite not receiving much of an encouragement, Derek doesn’t want to give up on Flynn and manages to get a first date with him. That goes well and they form a relationship. Flynn is still reluctant though, but Derek, suspecting something troubling in Flynn’s past, decides to be patient. Only time will tell if his patience will prove fruitful. It was great to see all of the characters returning and their interactions with each other. Like the first book, there is a lot of humour and good-natured ribbing going on between the characters.

Fantastic! Loved it!
This is a great book from a new to me author. Usually, I don’t really try many new things without a recommendation but came across this, it sounded interesting and like something I’d enjoy so I decided to give it a chance. Very very glad I did!
Firstly hot inked men, yes, please. Secondly, family connections-one of my favorite things. I absolutely love series about families whether by blood or brotherhood. Thirdly, more sexy men-in uniform and a slightly geeky writer. It’s like the author set out to hook me-probably not, but it worked anyway!
I really liked Heath & Ned’s connection and how they worked together. There wasn’t as much naughty time as some but it fit the story and the chemistry and passion was there regardless. They worked out their conflict towards the end maybe not ideally but realistically.
Overall a well done, engaging book. Loving and sexy. some serious moments but plenty of lighter moments and of course gotta have sarcasm and teasing when you’ve got families involved. Loved meeting all the characters and I will be looking forward to more. Wonder who is next!

So Very Wonderful!
Flynn and Derek were wonderful!!! I loved book 1 in the Nice Ink series and Ride or Die was even better than book 1!
Finally reading Flynn’s heartbreaking history totally explained his mysterious behavior from earlier. His guarded hope when he decided to give Derek a chance was so sweet and emotional. I loved Derek’s understanding and patience with Flynn! His devotion and determination to win over Flynn was so fun to read. The author did a great job with balancing fun, steam, chemistry, and family with this book. I’m so anxious to read the next book in the series!

Wow
This book was so good! Loved Heath and Ned and all the characters that were introduced! Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book! The author did an excellent job!

Excellent writing, and relatable characters
This was the second book in the Going Inksane series. I loved the fact that the initial attraction between Derek and Flynn was actually subtly hinted at in the first book in the series. Personally, I also loved the fact that it wasn’t really insta-love. I also really appreciated Flynn as a character. He’d lost so much, and yet had done much to give in a sense..and Derek, well, even as a cop, and the less awesome parts of his job, he was still really positive, and such a …caring person. I also appreciated the way Derek was patient and understanding. The lighter moments, the ridiculously charming nicknames, and the Nice family dynamics just added so much. Trish Edmisten is quickly becoming a one-click author for me, and I can hardly wait to see what comes next! I received an advance copy from the author in exchange for my review.
