Every little girl dreams of her future. Whether it be college and a career or marriage and babies. All our life we think about what we are going to do “someday.” Lizzy has dreams. She and her Daddy sat and planned for places to visit, things to try and people to see. With the death of her father when she was ten, she put the list away. Her mother’s depression and her own feelings of abandonment left her without a purpose. Where would be the enjoyment without her whole family to share it with?
By the time she was ready for high school, Lizzy has come to terms with a life full of bumps. Mom has had one boyfriend after another searching for the happiness she had before. Moving to new neighborhoods with each one. Kids are mean at school and friends don’t come easy when you didn’t get to attend with them from kindergarten. Being a semi-loner with only a few girls, she can call friends she learns to be self-sufficient. She makes good grades and tries to make her home life easy on her mom. But that all comes to a stop when the latest boyfriend pays too much attention to her growing body. Mom doesn’t notice, and the only option she sees is to leave. On her own at sixteen is not ideal, but it’s better than not having any choices.
Street life is hard, and there isn’t a day that goes by that the thought of going home doesn’t cross her mind. Finding others just like herself makes it bearable. Surviving is easier when you’re not the only one. Then one day, she meets him. That one person that makes you wish for more. Spending time with them makes your day brighter. Makes you wish for everything again. Never thinking it’s all just an illusion. Betrayal of the worst kind. Pain and humiliation become the norm, and it’s all his fault.
Thirty years later, after making her way in life and bringing her girls with her, she has it all. A successful business and friends who respect her. Living quietly does make for town gossip, but that is just talk. She is content with everything she has and what she fought for. Until he comes back. With him come memories better left in the past. Can she survive with her heart and mind intact? Can she tolerate being around the person who betrayed her, to make her girls happy? This is Lizzy’s story. The final installment of the Mercy’s Angels. What happened to take the light away from her eyes? Why does the past have to resurface now?

Momma’s story. A true tale of survival. Barbi Barnard tells of overcoming evil to find the good. A must read!

I really loved this book. I hurt for Elizabeth, cried for Elizabeth, got pissed off for her. The journey to her past was hard to read, but now I understand what made her the wonderful woman she is today. The men and romance of the story were perfect. She deserves to have love and kindness in abundance. I truly hope we see more of these characters! There is so much more story for them all. Greg, Match, Jenni, Wayne, Tiffi, Nick, and all the other characters in Momma’s life. The crossover with L. Ann Marie’s MC and Prince’s series was a pleasant surprise. Loved this book!

Infidelity, partying, and drugs was a musician’s mandatory lifestyle. Candiss Ford thought dating a rock star was insane; she believed every cliché attached to them. During a chance meeting, Candiss learns of the relationship between her fiancé and the model. Thinking that’s a typical, inevitable occurrence in NiXX’s circle -rockers and models coupling- she decides she’d rather feel the heartache now, and sets NiXX free to be with the woman she believed he preferred: the lovely Farren. NiXX is left wondering if he’ll ever call the woman he loved, MINE.

Later, tired of rejection, a fateful phone call leads Cassidy and to move again, this time to her hometown of Hampton, California and try her luck there.

Negative Ion keyboardist Greg Mitchell is embroiled in a nasty custody battle with his ex while attempting to heal and keep strong for the rest of the band members after the loss of a brother. Sparks fly when Cassidy and Greg’s paths collide, but the guilt from their unusual rendezvous may just be enough to destroy her. Plus, Cassidy’s new friend Kimber is hiding something, and she suspects it has to do with missing Negative Ion drummer, Jaxon Malloy.

Cassidy soon finds her life in a complete flux, and she doesn’t know who to choose: the man she knows will always be there for her or the man who sets her body aflame?

WOW… INCREDIBLE… INSANE… AMAZING…

This book totally blew my mind, but in a good way. Cassidy has to choose between the hot, and I do mean HOT attraction she has with Greg or the steady devotion but frustrated relationship she has with Eddie. Greg is a hot rocker from the amazing band Negative Ion, his world has been wrecked from the custody battle he is facing with his ex.

Cassidy is living a boring and unsatisfied life with her boyfriend, Eddie. She has good friends and a steady man, but nothing sets her on fire until…

One fateful meeting between Greg and Cassidy sets them both on fire not to mention had my kindle smoking. Cassidy now must decide does she continue with Greg or does she resume the life she knows will never satisfy her.

Which would you choose: Hot and Passionate or Steady and Dependable? Just when you think you know what Cassidy will decide the twists that Ryanne loves to throw into her stories happen.

If this is your first book from Ryanne, you are in for a treat. Ryanne writes hot and steamy stories with a story that makes you feel every emotion you have. I have read every book from Ryanne to date, and she hit it out of the park on this one. I have to say this is my favorite book of hers. I love how she pulls you in and makes you take this journey with her characters.

Do I suggest you read it? HELL YES

How many stars do I give it? ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

The first book in this series is Falling, do you need to read it first? Not really but it will help you understand some things that transpire, so I suggest you read it first. This book is about Greg, Cassidy, and Eddie. There are some twists and turns that will make your mouth drop open. Especially the part when… well I will let you read that for yourself.

Get your copy today you will not regret it, this is one book that is going to be re-read over and over again. Thank you Ryanne for once again pulling me into that mind of yours and showing me the genius of the writer that resides there.

“The Between Times” (Jewell in the Dark, Volume II) by Marta Moran Bishop – #Horror, #Occult, #ContemporaryFiction

Marta jewell in the dark 10-22-18.jpg

Line Blurb
In the days when the corporations rule the world. The middle class is gone, and the cities are divided into upper and lower towns.
The upper towns are domed to protect the rich from the foul air that permeates the world, from the waste that fills the air, and fumes that blacken the sky from the smokestacks of the factories. The water is heavily rationed in the lower towns and barely drinkable, so fouled by the chemicals that fill the rivers and springs.
While in the upper town the water is purified even in the fountains and swimming pools that grace the world of the high and mighty. The shops, boutiques, restaurants, and museums are crowded in the upper town, music can be heard everywhere, and the flowers grow tall and beautiful.
While the people of the lower towns work six days a week, in sixteen to eighteen-hour shifts. There one day off is Sunday, it is then that the men and young boys must be found in the church, while the women and girls are kept at home, for they are considered to be beasts for breeding and less important than the animals that grace the zoos of the upper towns. Food is scarce in the lower town, and the only market is the company store.
The world has stepped back into the dark ages. Nearly all hope is gone to those not born into wealth and only the prophecy that one day a young woman will come who can control the magic of the between times keeps the poor going. It is said she will be able to pull on the energy of all those who are of like mind, wrap that energy together and send it into the world to remake it.
Marta Moran Bishop takes the reader through a possible future. Unlike Orwell’s, Animal Farm and 1984, or Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, The Between Times is not based on the government ‘Big Brother,’ but rather it is written using a recent ruling by the Supreme Court that says corporations are people. In The Between Times, we are shown the possibility of a world where the poor are considered to be a beast of burden, good only for the labor they can produce or the war they can fight, to enable the war profiteers to make more money.
Poor women are used for breeding and considered to be the property of men and the corporation. There is no way for the uneducated and isolated poor, move up the latter, for the middle class is gone.
In this short novel, The United States had taken a social, economic, and cultural step backward, to a time when our world consisted of lords and serfs. The only thing that keeps those who are not in the ruling class of the elite, going is the belief in a prophecy, that one day a girl will be born who will have the ability to unite all kindred spirits past, present, and future, to bring change to the world.
A truly amazingly imaginative book.

The Between Times are NOW!
Marta Moran Bishop’s The Between Times is a terrific allegory–until the sucker punch. You think you’re reading a dystopian story set in some future time. Then you suddenly realize Bishop is writing about right now: The Between Times is a period in which we still have a chance save all we hold dear. Fail to marshal our collective powers, and we fail as a society, a culture, as a nation-state, and the beacon to the world that America has always been being snuffed, never to be reignited. Penned with all the visceral indictments of Sinclair’s The Jungle, we admire and pity Ben, fear for Jewell, grieve Roxanne and loathe Mr. Horton and his kind. There is a cliffhanger ending that made me need to know more. Will the uprising in The Between Times save us? This series would make fascinating movies.

Kimber wanted to be a lawyer almost as much as she wanted Roland Sampson, her older brother’s best friend. After pining for him for two years, Kimber finally accepts that to Roland, she will always be “his best friend’s kid sister,” and nothing more.
During her first year of college, Kimber meets Samantha and her twin, ultimate bad-boy Jaxen Malloy, drummer for Negative Ion. Tatted. Muscled. Beyond gorgeous. Soon Kimber finds herself forgetting Roland and thinking only of Jaxen, much to Samantha’s disappointment. Like Kimber’s brother, Samantha wants Kimber as far away from Jaxen, female enemy number one, as possible since she knew all Jaxen would do is viciously hurt her. Not this time, Kimber insisted. Well-schooled on Jaxen’s reputation, Kimber decides to take what she can get, and ignore all the warnings to stay away from the handsome bad-boy.
Will Jaxen ever think of Kimber as something other than his “annoying” sister’s friend or was he falling for her, too? Kimber hoped so and, to find out, she was willing to take the risk of Jaxen breaking her heart… and soul.

Amazing read!

Ryanne did an amazing job of keeping me on the edge of the seat. She is the master of the unexpected. All I can say is watch out! Her style of writing pulled me in immediately and would not let me go until I was screaming at the end for book two. But I know her, I just bet Ryanne has something to throw me off my game even more in book two. I like the dynamic of the characters and the overall plot. Just remember nothing is as it seems. So, if you are looking for an amazing read, get this book. You won’t be disappointed.

What a great novel about a mother’s sacrifice!
By hesustains
First book I’ve read by this author, I was not disappointed!
As you read this book, you wonder how it will end. Will the mother be right or will there be a surprise ending? You’ll have to read the book to find out. What a bonus with the added recipes. They come from an Italian wife. Being married to an Italian and I love to cook, I can’t wait to try some of these dishes and pass them to our children. My mother in law did not cook, so we do not have the handed down, generation after generation recipes. Maybe a tradition will be started with my family, and I will pass these on? I just ordered book two to see how the story continues and ends. I can’t wait to start reading it!

Super Fantastic!

My heart bleeds for the Indians! I wish I had lived in the time period when there were peaceful tribes and the white man stayed in their own backyard.

It shames me to be white, although I’m also Irish, German, and a tad of Indian. My husband is part Cherokee, he looks Indian. It is a horrible thing what the white men did, greed, and ignorance along with prejudices and thinking they were better than anyone else is what caused all the hatred and Indian wars.

I love these stories and can hardly wait for the fifth book! Please, Pamela when will it be out? Wonderful job with this series!
