Fun read
Thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories. Most were different from the usual paranormal stories as they ended leaving the reader to decide what will happen. Fun and entertaining.

Having eagerly read Blood Master, I simply had to read this story too, especially knowing how imaginative and emotional this author’s creative mind was likely to be. Her stories ooze with great insight into the dynamics between characters while her imagination is just on full throttle, adding so much essence to the plot. The story is like a layered cake, with Griffin and Tassta’s romance simply added as a delicious icing on the top for me…my goodness, I swooned. But, the romantic part did not distract me from the suspenseful segments of the story. Just like in the Blood Master, the characters in Blood Phase are well-established and easily refreshed my recall of them so clearly in my head. Almost as if I was in the story, I got so caught up in it and I was compelled by my urges to read the story until I finished it, with the sun slowly peeking over the horizon in the morning. I can’t wait to read the next sequel!!! I hope they make a movie of this story…Imagine watching it in 3D! *swoons*

I love zombie books and this one is exceptional! Most of the characters are teenagers and deal with the zombies in their own way. Viral Dawn is filled with action, Zombies and a touch of romance! It’s truly a new twist on the Zombie experience! I can’t wait for the next book! I highly recommend Viral Dawn!
All Carson Reno Mystery Series Books are standalone novels. It is not necessary to read them in any particular order. It was a disaster beyond most people’s comprehension. There was nothing left standing of the barn, it had burned completely to the ground. Among the rubble and smoking wood, you could see the smoking corpses – which had once been some of the finest thoroughbred stallions in the Tennessee and Kentucky area. Unnoticed, among these ruins, were the burned remains of Aaron Nunamaker, owner of ‘Nunamaker Stables’, and one of the best-known horse breeders and stud farm owners in West Tennessee. Killing a human being brings the wrath of the law and the accompanying sorrow and grief from loved ones. Killing a helpless animal brings wrath that is unequaled to that associated with killing a person. This sorrow and grief continue long after the grief over human loss has left. Mankind will forget their own losses, but they never forget similar betrayals to animals. Odd isn’t it? The fire had, obviously, been set and was a deliberate murder of innocent animals – horses. Horses, that could not free themselves from their comfortable stable, horses that trusted their caregiver and felt safe in their home. Horses that died a terrible death, and horses that would never know how they became involved in such a terrible scheme and plan. Tracks revealed that many of the doomed horses had been led from another barn to the one that was burned. His body was burned beyond normal recognition, like the horses, but his engraved Horseshoe ring, which he always wore proudly on his right-hand ring finger, made preliminary identification possible.

Carson Reno is the best detective in the world!I
love the way Darnell weaves this mystery making it seem like Carson won’t be able to solve it. But after speaking with a lot of people, most good some bad, he finally solves the mystery of who killed Aaron and the horses. I have never been disappointed in the Carson Reno books and look forward to reading more! I highly recommend Horse Tales!

In the Never Lands, Birthday Celebrations tend to be a little more festive than in other worlds. No silly little parties with only family and friends, but rather grand balls with princes and princesses and assassins, oh my. What’s a ball without some intrigue? Have a Happy Birthday with Prince Christophe as he celebrates in The First Ball. Fairy Tales just got a little bit darker.

Well crafted.A nicely paced short story that sets a scene in the life of a prince (a ball designed to find him a wife), throws in a little intrigue, some great characterizations, and a bit of action, gets you interested in the wider world this all takes place in, and then it wraps up tidily without the cliffhanger that one might expect from an introduction to a series. All in one short story. Well Done! …. The First Ball is a well crafted short story that has me seriously considering the rest of Andi Lawrencovna’s books, even though they are out of my normal comfort zone (rocket ships and ray guns). That is an accomplishment. Give this one a read.

Face in the Window
As I stepped from the rental car, I saw the lace curtains pulled aside in a second floor window. I felt eyes stare down at me. My jaw dropped. Had it followed me here?
Ronnie Hoffmann glanced at me over the roof of the car. “What’s wrong now?” she said.
I stood, blinking.
With a shrug, she turned to Andrea O’Rourke, who popped the trunk and lifted out our suitcases.
When I looked again at the window I saw a woman, but not quite a woman. She appeared to be… transparent. Shuddering, I turned my back to the house.
“Yeah, I’m cold too, Katy. Get your suitcase.” Ronnie took off her thick-rimmed glasses and brushed a strand of hair from her eyes. Though only in her early thirties, her long black hair showed streaks of gray.
I wrapped my heavy coat tight around my chest but didn’t move. I hadn’t wanted to come to Niagara-on-the-Lake, hadn’t wanted to leave my apartment. After what I’d been through, I never wanted to venture out again. Ronnie had refused to let me become a hermit.
“You waiting for April when the snow melts?” she called to me.
I lifted my eyes to the window. The curtains were closed. Feeling as though the woman continued to watch me, I shrank back against the car door. “Somebody’s… up there.”
Andrea clicked her tongue.
“Another ghost?” Ronnie slammed the car trunk closed. “The Niagara Inn isn’t any more haunted than your apartment.”
My friend knew what haunted me. She had helped to pull me through a breakdown seven years ago. She didn’t believe a ghost caused it then, and didn’t believe one pushed me toward the edge this time.
I pointed to the window. “Don’t you see her?”
Ronnie didn’t bother to look. “Probably another guest.”
The stiff Lake Ontario wind had turned Andrea’s face almost as red as her hair. Looking around the empty parking lot, she said, “Can’t be another guest. No one but us is stupid enough to travel in this weather.” She hefted her suitcase. “Yap out here if you want. I’m going inside.”
Shivering, I examined the bed and breakfast Ronnie had brought me to for a long, girls-only weekend. Pale behind the falling snow and surrounded by skeletons of azalea bushes and a row of evergreen hedges, the Niagara Inn rose two stories above what appeared to be an ancient brick foundation.
“Come on, come on. I’m about to turn into an icicle,” Andrea complained.
“More like a cherry popsicle,” Ronnie said.
“Yeah, whatever.” Our redheaded friend turned and stomped off through the snow.
The wind rushed up to encircle me. In its howl, I heard a familiar laugh. This disembodied sound had chased me since my teenage years. I looked at our car, now coated with a thin layer of snow. I had an urgent desire to get in, drive back across the border to the Buffalo airport and fly home to Manhattan. Though the laughter also haunted me there, at least in familiar surroundings I could almost ignore it.
While I thought about fleeing, the lake wind pushed me toward the house. I held fast.
Ronnie grabbed the sleeve of my black faux-fur coat. “Come on!”
I pulled away. “I can’t… the laugh.”
“You’re hearing it again?”
I nodded.
She took me by the shoulders. “You’re not being haunted, Katy. What you hear is just in your head. How many times do I have to tell you that? Now get inside before we both get sick.”
When I still resisted, she gave me a tight-lipped stare—her way of saying, Kaitlyn Novacs, get over yourself.
“Ken and I were here for our anniversary five years ago,” she said. “This is a beautiful place, not some crappy dump with cobwebs your warped mind is turning it into. Now move!”
I gritted my teeth and took a deep breath. Nothing in this house could be worse than what I’ve been through, I thought.
The wind howled again, louder this time. It might have been telling me, You think so?
Ronnie’s grin wrinkled her eyes. “What an expression. You look like an Eskimo searching for the nearest dogsled. Wanna rub noses?”
I grabbed a handful of snow from a bush and flung it at her. Then, feeling a rush of warmth for my best and sometimes only friend, I hugged her.
“Yeah, yeah, I love you too,” she said. “Now can we get out of this storm?”
With her hand propelling me forward, I slogged through drifting snow from the parking lot to the Niagara Inn’s door where Andrea O’Rourke waited
