Her dreams shattered, Connie Meyer just wants to be left alone to live her life in peace. She finds that difficult to do when her estranged husband’s mother insists she returns to her son and a marriage she no longer wants—a marriage that does more harm than good.
Desperate to escape, Connie returns to Vail Mountain, the one place she had truly felt alive. However, her troubles soon follow her, and she gets more than she bargained for as she fights not only her past but the intense feelings that one newly elected sheriff arouses in her.
Jacob Tanner is wary of the city life and the never-ending stream of criminals that plague New York City. He resigns from the police force after a drug bust goes wrong, landing himself in the hospital to face his mortality alone. Uncertain about the direction of his life, he learns of the new sheriff position on Vail Mountain and takes a gigantic leap of faith—faith that he isn’t making a big mistake. Armed with nothing but a few possessions, Jacob relocates, only to find himself falling hard for a woman whose blue eyes speak of pain and loneliness.
As he battles his worst nightmare, can Jacob show her there is more to life than what they have been dealt and convince her that with him, nothing is impossible?

Every little girl dreams of her future. Whether it be college and a career or marriage and babies. All our life we think about what we are going to do “someday”. Lizzy has dreams. She and her Daddy sat and planned for places to visit, things to try and people to see. With the death of her father when she was ten, she put the list away. Her mother’s depression and her own feelings of abandonment left her without a purpose. Where would be the enjoyment without her whole family to share it with?
By the time she was ready for high school, Lizzy has come to terms with a life full of bumps. Mom has had one boyfriend after another searching for the happiness she had before. Moving to new neighborhoods with each one. Kids are mean at school and friends don’t come easy when you didn’t get to attend with them from kindergarten. Being a semi-loner with only a few girls she can call friends she learns to be self-sufficient. She makes good grades and tries to make her home life easy on her mom. But that all comes to a stop when the latest boyfriend pays too much attention to her growing body. Mom doesn’t notice and the only option she sees is to leave. On her own at sixteen is not ideal, but it’s better than not having any choices.
Street life is hard and there isn’t a day that goes by that the thought of going home doesn’t cross her mind. Finding others just like herself makes it bearable. Surviving is easier when you’re not the only one. Then one day, she meets him. That one person that makes you wish for more. Spending time with them makes your day brighter. Makes you wish for everything again. Never thinking it’s all just an illusion. Betrayal of the worst kind. Pain and humiliation become the norm, and it’s all his fault.
Thirty years later, after making her way in life and bringing her girls with her, she has it all. A successful business and friends who respect her. Living quietly does make for town gossip, but that is just talk. She is content with everything she has and what she fought for. Until he comes back. With him come memories better left in the past. Can she survive with her heart and mind intact? Can she tolerate being around the person who betrayed her, to make her girls happy? This is Lizzy’s story. The final installment of the Mercy’s Angels. What happened to take the light away from her eyes? Why does the past have to resurface now?

Elizabeth’s Story is both heartbreaking and full of hope. You see the struggles she has gone through but also the courage and determination that she has to continue life as she knows it. Love Kenneth and Greg, making her feel like the fantastic woman that she is. Great read, highly recommended!

It’s time. Within a year the Prince must die, or he and his people and his kingdom will survive uncontested. Within a year, but there are those already on the move, already lying in wait to fulfill fate. Reports of a mercenary army have begun to spread throughout the land. Soldiers have been called to prepare for war and captains have been summoned to lead them. Spies have been sent forth to gather information. Assassins have been requisitioned to hunt out those meant to die.
And princes have been sent to hide deep within the woods.
Kit can’t help looking around every corner for his Captain far away on her own mission. Perhaps he should look harder for the trees hide more secrets than just the elves of the forest.
How long can you hide from your enemies find you? How long can you lie before the truth sets you free? And who will find you when the smoke clears, and you’re safe once more?
How much can you endure before you can’t bear the burden of prophecy anymore?
Once upon a time…

Loved this book!

What an ending to a great story! While there are a few things about The Prince that I didn’t care for, the book is an absolutely must-read. Emotions run that gamut in this last book about Kit and Eli. From love and loss to desperation and anguish, to anger and heartbreak. It’s all there. The reader feels it! One of my few suggestions, or criticisms, would be that, while that actual villain didn’t come as a real surprise to me, he should have paid a lot more dearly in the form of some sort of public display! Also, she uses a little bit of language in this one book that is really unnecessary, in my opinion. But neither of these really affects whether or not I would recommend this book or the entire series to anyone!

Lawrencovna’s characters are well developed and personal. I truly love her writing style. All three books are emotional and you really feel for her characters. But this last one was something else. Yes, I did cry…more than once, but it’s a perfect ending to a well written re-imagined telling of Ella and Prince Charming. I’ll be looking forward to reading more from Lawrencovna!

WHEN ROSIE MET DANNY! SEASONS OF OUR LOVE BY ANGELA GASCOIGNE

SEASONSOFOURLOVE-ANGELA.jpgA FIRST CLASS READ

I loved Seasons of Our Love. The well developed characters nudged their way into my heart or not. Some I loved to hate. I rooted for Danny and Rosie from start to finish. The story moves, but not linearly. With lots of twists and turns, you might want to fasten your seat belts. Whenever I put the book aside, the story lived inside my head calling me back. I never stayed away too long because I knew the author had more surprises in store. I hope there’s a sequel because I didn’t want this one to end. Angela wove an intriguing, compelling romance that anyone with a soft heart will want to read. I look forward to more from Angela Gascoigne.
