The second in a very good series.

Having thoroughly enjoyed ‘January Black Ice’, the first in Kauffman’s Cat Collier mystery series last year, I started this second installment feeling a little sorry that I had left it so long.
‘February White Lies’ picks up the story of Cat and her boyfriend Carter a short while after the end of the first story. Members of their families and friends return as regular characters, alongside new people of interest in a new mystery.

Kauffman’s characters are natural and familiarly drawn, and her writing is comfortable and easy to read. The different characters’ stories are interwoven neatly enough to work in a novella, but without the events of the plot feeling contrived or relationships overly orchestrated.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so I’m going to commit to reading ‘March Blues’ in the coming month.

Loved it!

Jenni’s story for me was a tough read, but I’m glad I read it. She suffered so much during her childhood so her views on some things are different. She doesn’t understand how Momma can just let the MC back into their world. Her husband, Wayne, has an idea to help her understand that not everyone in the MC are bad. He plans a road trip to show her the good side. Will it work? Only time will tell.

Although I am giving this book a four star review, I think many readers will like the tale even more than I did, and it is quite a tale. The author.gives readers a peek into the life of Holly Dineen. I liked Holly and could see personality traits from several people I know wrapped up in this complex lady who is just trying to figure out love,life and the emotions that go with hardships, heartaches and times that are wonderful and make Holly who she is. The book is an emotional roller coaster ride that is a must read.

Quite an interesting group of stories written by 12 different authors.
They are all quick easy reads focusing on creatures of the water. All mythical creatures of course..haha
We have quite a mixture of Mermaids, Sirens, Water Sprites, Guardians, Fairies, Dragons, Gods, and Warriors. Oh yeah we even get a story with descendants of Loch Ness and Poseidon!
Of course I have to let you know that there are a couple of stories that end on a cliffhanger though.
The story I am going to review is called The Blue King written by the fabulous LJ Vickery.
We have King Waylon who falls head over heals for a little blue glowie warrior woman named Lavarette. One tiny lethal woman who serves the King of the underworld as head of security.
King Waylon is old school, women should be kept safe at home raising a family and keeping a nice home for her man. Lavarette may be tiny but when she is faced with danger she is tough as nails.
Small things really do pack a big punch!
