Are angels among us?
Charlie Phillips is not looking forward to the family vacation. His parents have not been getting along and he really isn’t looking forward to spending the next two weeks in close quarters. Little did he know that the vacation would be a life-changing one for them all. The question becomes, would he survive it?
The writing and flow of this story is what I have come to expect from this author – entertaining and always unexpected though the genre is a new one. Charlie seems to be your typical teenager with Clarisse providing the role of the beautiful ingénue. As the pages turned I quickly realized that this summer romance was going to be much more. Intriguing premise, twisty plot and an ending that has me eagerly looking forward to the next in the series.

On the Edge of My Seat!!!!
Beautiful, charming Bailey, appears to be a confident teen – yet she is a bit of a “people-pleaser”. One of the people most important to please is her mother. Bailey’s outward appearance and upbeat personality cover a darker, more introverted mentality. She holds painful true feelings deep inside – locking her heart away.
Early on in the story, something crucial to Bailey is ripped away, leaving her in incredibly stifling – circumstances. Though trapped intently within her private thoughts for what seems to be her whole life – finally, she’s forced to find strength from within and what happens will glue you to the pages of this adventurous story. This character’s rich intensity – gave me literal goose-bumps at times. I really couldn’t put it down.
As the story goes along, Bailey’s attitude shifts. It was refreshing to watch her move thru this transition – becoming a resourceful woman who is fearless about doing fighting for her survival in a messed up situation. At the same time, she learns about gratitude and how to appreciate the things most people take for granted.
There is a chilling theme within the plot that challenges social boundaries, yet does add to the intrigue and at times, rather disturbing revelations.
Suddenly danger looms, affecting millions and time is running out! Bailey faces complicated decisions which need to be made immediately.
I found myself pausing at the end of each page, anticipating what was going to happen on the next. In fact, the drama builds as the story goes on, so it is important to read the series of three books in order. I will warn you, there is some violence, but it is not domineering.
The author painted Bailey’s thoughts so precisely that I could easily view the world from behind her eyes. I applaud the author for creating such an energetic and independent young woman, as opposed to some of the weaker characters I’ve read in other books. This character encouraged me and gave me hope that I too, one day, may be as fearless as she. If you love strong women, you’re going to love Bailey as much as I do.
I loved this book and am shouting out for you to read it!

This is a remarkable book! A real page-turner!
Jacobey’s characters are believable, and you find yourself sympathizing with them, loving them, hating them.
Her story keeps you wondering what’s going to happen next to Bailey; a teenager who lost her parents and, along with her six-year-old twin brothers, is uprooted from their home in Illinois to live with their uncle in a place called The Ranch.
Bailey’s life is at stake, and she has to do what she can to save herself.
You will really love this book!
I highly recommend it!

Do you believe in magic?
Jacobey’s book, The Wicked Awakened, grabs from the very beginning.
Two friends, Sarah and Karen, go to a bazaar and find a necklace which, when Sarah holds it, feels an electric current go through her. Karen buys it for Sarah for her birthday, and the man selling the item tells her it has magic in it. However, even though Sarah was into the goth look when she was in high school, doesn’t believe in it anymore; unlike her friend Karen.
Slowly Karen brings Sarah back to believing and that is all I can tell you. You need to read what happens to Sarah; I do not want to ruin it for you.
I highly recommend The Wicked Awakened even if you do not believe in magic!

A 5-Star Must Read!
Rebecca Stewart switches schools to try and revive her teaching career and gets more than she bargained for. When 3 students try to get her to quit she decides on a little revenge – nothing drastic but enough to get her point across. When it backfires she struggles to keep her job and keep her composure. Just when she thinks it’s over the students start turning up dead. Can she convince the cops she isn’t to blame?
I really enjoyed this book – the author knows how to keep your interest until the very end!

I really enjoyed reading it!
It’s a very thrilling story and I loved how unexpected the ending was. A very well-written novel that I enjoyed reading a lot.
Rider and his father are attending the funeral of someone his father knew a long time ago. He doesn’t understand why his father has brought him here when he didn’t even know these people. Apparently the deceased was someone special to his father and now his father wants to help the family uncover secrets that are better forgotten.
Meri has just lost her mother. She is still in shock and grieving when she meets Rider. Suddenly, two youngsters are thrown together due to unexpected circumstances. It seems that Meri is in danger and for some reason Rider is appointed as her bodyguard. On the run, as they spend time together not only they learn more about their past but also pave a path to their future, a future that neither of them had anticipated.
It’s a fast-paced novel. I liked the flow of it and the characters too. I think that it is a very good start to a promising series. Also, it is a bonus that the book can be read as stand alone.
