Great short story with a unique twist.

By P.S. Winn

If you are a fan of the twilight zone, you need to pick up the many books by Michael Bussa. He is a storyteller with a mind that is a bit twisted but in a delightful way. Step into ‘Antiques by Lora’ a special gift shop. That’s what Tony Price did, and now his life will never be the same. The author takes readers on a great journey into the macabre in such a great story with a fantastic twisted ending. As always, grabbing a book by this author is like settling down and telling horror stories in front of a raging fire with an old friend and always well worth that trip.

Michael Bussa has done it again!

I’ve never been the first to review anything before….so I’ not going to post any spoilers. In his usual fashion, Michael has crafted interesting characters and developed the plot in a way that keeps you racing through the story to its astonishing conclusion. I devoured it as soon as I downloaded it….then went back and read it again, more slowly, the better to appreciate the details and the writer’s skill at moving the action along while keeping your attention engaged. There’s no lag, just a tight, well-written tale. Michael’s writing keeps getting better and better. I’m not going to say any more about ‘Lettie’s Plight’–you need to run, not walk, to download and read this.

A dark and humorous, albeit, twisted story of two opposites on their sixth anniversary. They should never have married. Violet is submerged in fantasy and denial. She is blindly in love with Gideon who cannot bear to breathe in the same room with her. She manages her day in the ignorance of bliss, an element of the marriage that only she knows. Gideon is in torment every moment of each passing day. He finally realizes that it must end if he is to be free to search for his own happiness. What will he do?

Another Well Written Masterpiece!!

Another amazing story Michael!! I loved how you captured the love/hate relationship between Gideon and Violet. She thought he loved her when in reality he couldn’t stand her and wished something would happen to her. But all in all, I loved it!! So glad you could share this incredible talent of yours with me! Keep it up!! I’m truly inspired!

An odd tale of disconnection follows a quiet little man who wanders about the day, in the shadows of an overbearing wife. Willing to do anything to find the love they once shared, he trails her patiently, almost invisibly, to an unexpected ending.
The author cleverly uses rhythm and rhyme, creating a long form, poetic short story.

This is a great short tale with a wonderful feel to it. Follow Milo, a mild-mannered man as he walks through life. Thinking of his wife and their relationship. he repeats “I’ve done nothing, no, nary nothing” readers are going to be surprised as they learn just what is the meaning behind the words and the true story of the life of the Elek’s, husband and wife. Michael Bussa has a way with a short story that is unique and a pleasure to find.

Commander in Chief, gone mad!

This gripping short story will have readers intrigued right from the start. A tale of a president with his own nefarious agenda and those close to him who are in wittingly sucked into his mad plan. In true Bussa style, you won’t connect all the dots until the very last paragraph.

Calder made mistakes he would pay for, though he didn’t think it would be with his life. He quickly learned that everything he believed about dying wasn’t true, after all.
From the author of The Peace of Pi, and Ending in V, comes a haunting new tale that will keep you turning the pages, to the unexpected ending.

Sesame, an old woman in frail health, is trapped in the attic with no explanation. A woman and her two small girls live on the first floor, none of whom pay the old woman any mind. Though she tries calling out, banging on walls, and stomping on the floor, her cries for help go ignored.

Sesame spends her days writing letters about the strange happenings, to her sister, Eula, who left home decades ago. It becomes certain to everyone living in the house that there is a ghostly presence, firmly rooted among them; disturbing the peace and creating fears beyond reason. The house surely is haunted. Only the ending reveals by whom.

This is a short story but long on creepy. I loved it. Deryn Oliver was the perfect narrator. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
