Falling in love with his partner’s little sister was never part of the plan.

There was an order to James Marsden’s future: get a job as an Indianapolis cop, work his way up to detective, and then find a nice girl and start a family. He never planned on walking into a diner his first day as a rookie copy and for her to blow his entire timeline to smithereens.

When Marie Griffen’s older brother Steve introduced her to his new trainee, she was instantly drawn to his shy demeanor and blushing face. Only, she couldn’t act on her feelings even if she wanted to. Steve wanted her to date someone with a normal job – that wasn’t his partner. Marie just wanted to live her own life without her older brother watching over her.

Marie and James must decide if this off-limits romance is worth the risk or if the consequences are too much for either of them to bear.

5 Sweet Stars for Loving Marie

If there is anything remotely negative to say about this one it would be that it is too short. I have loved James and Marie in all the Fairfield Corners books, and adore this tease of how they met. In other words, I want more! 😉

This is fantastic through and through. If you are not familiar with the rest of the series, this can definitely stand alone and can also stand as a great introduction to the series. It’s a quick read, but sweet. It sets the tone for the future of the series, though this one is set in Indianapolis rather than the quaint Fairfield Corners.

This is a clean, sweet read and highly recommended.

A past she can’t remember. A love he can’t forget. After losing everything in an accident that he can only blame himself for, Robbie Newlin embraced sobriety and tried to live his life quietly alone at this family’s cottage on the lake. Grief being his only ally, Robbie was perfectly content with how he lived until Faith moved into the cottage next door. Now, Faith, had him questioning whether to keep grieving or to open his broken heart to let love in again. Faith McMillan had no memory of her life before that day three years ago. The physical scars had faded, but the emotional ones were still fresh and raw. Living rent-free seemed like a great way to finish her second book and give her the time to figure out her next move, but then she met the reclusive guy next door and everything changed. To get past the broken parts, Robbie and Faith must figure out if they want to continue living their lives in solitude or take a chance on finding an ending together.Line review

If you love true love…. with a few twists, find it here
By A Nicky Hjort
I loved this story. In fact, I read it in two sittings. Oh, how I hoped … for the main characters. If you said what one thing could have made it better? I would say….. more, please. Lol. Already ready for the next. So I guess I better go back and read the first few in the series. If you love true love… you’ll love this Novella and wish it was an even longer novel. Well done.

It only took one look into his eyes for her to know she was in trouble.

Adam Bricklin has heard the melody in his head for years, the melody that told him if a decision was right or wrong. When he met Ragan Newlin, the song told him she was the one. He was devastated when circumstances tore them apart. It has taken three years for Adam to finally move past the heartbreak he suffered when Ragan left town in the middle of the night. No note, no email, no text. She was just gone. Now he has a new girlfriend, a new album in the works, and his daughter is doing well in school. Until the day Ragan returned to Fairfield Corners.

Ragan came home to celebrate her parents’ anniversary, hoping they would forgive her for not telling them about her marriage or her son. When she discovered that Adam was still living in Fairfield Corners she hoped her secrets were safe; secrets that drove her away three years ago, secrets that could change their lives forever.

A second chance at love and happiness

Regan left Fairfield Corners three years ago leaving without explanation to Adam. She returns in the middle of a snowstorm, a deer runs out in front of her, she swerves to avoid hitting it, loses control of the car, goes into the river. This was by Adam’s house, he sees it and rescues her and her son. She is taken to the hospital and the doctor treating her is her twin brothers lifelong best friend.
There is quite a bit of history, hard feels among some of the characters. Regan must be honest with herself and everyone else as to why she left like she did, that Adam is her son’s father. Mark the doctor wants to have a relationship with her, accepting her son as his own. The person who was stalking her three years ago and threatened to kill Adam is still in town and has sent a threatening letter again. Reagan can’t run away this time.
You will not want to put this book down. Ms. Remenicky has put together a very suspense filled live story. Looking forward to reading more from her.

Meet author L.A. Remenicky – “Saving Cassie” (Fairfield Corners Book 1) – #Romance, #Mystery&Suspense, #Suspense, #Ghosts, #Paranormal, #Demons&Devils

Lori

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I’ve been an avid bookworm since I first learned to read.

How long does it take you to write a book?

Usually, about 3 – 4 months.

What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?

It varies due to my “day job” – I try to write something every day – doesn’t always happen.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I don’t know if it’s interesting or not but I have to have music playing in the background. I can’t write in total silence.
How do your books get published?

I am with a small, indie publisher – Lavish Publishing.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

Most of my story ideas come from music lyrics, but I also get ideas from television shows, random comments, pretty much anything that makes me ask “What if?” Saving Cassie came from a dream and the lyrics to (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams.
When did you write your first book and how old were you?

I wrote Saving Cassie during NaNoWriMo in 2013 (I was 49). A friend mentioned this really cool contest where you try to write 50,000 words in a month. I thought, why not? So I signed up and wrote 50,000 words that November, it was a mess but that mess turned into Saving Cassie. After a lot of editing, I published it 2014.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

Read, watch television, travel.
What does your family think of your writing?

I’m lucky in that they are very supportive. My mom reads all my books.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

That I could write something that others enjoy reading.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I currently have 7 published along with a short story and a novelette in anthologies. My favorite is Saving Cassie, only because it was the first.

Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?

Read, read, read. Write, write, write. Finding a critique partner/alpha reader who will be honest (and not just say they love it) is a huge help.
Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Not much except from my very small core group of readers.
Do you like to create books for adults?

Yes, I love writing romance.
What do you think makes a good story?

That’s a hard question. A good story will draw you in while leaving just enough to the imagination – difficult to explain.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I wanted to be an author or a famous singer. I can’t carry a tune in a bucket so it’s a good thing I can write, lol.

Any books in the works?

Yes, I am currently finishing up the 2nd in the Love On The Double Duet – Beyond Duty (Loving Jessie’s Girl is book 1). I am also working on a story for an anthology and a couple of other ideas that are still in the planning stages.

What are your plans for the future?

Writing, of course. Finish the Fairfield Corners series (2 more books planned), start a Rockstar series.

Spooky and impossible to put down

I have to start by saying that this book was a pleasure to read. It is also the first that I have read by L.A. Remenicky. That being said, I found her characters to be real, believable, down to earth and charming.
Cassie is a woman who has never felt “right” in her own skin, and things start to happen that make absolutely no sense at all. First, her parents are killed leaving her orphaned and alone with her grandmother. Then her grandmother dies in a mysterious way leaving Cassie the sole heir of the house she grew up in and her grandmother’s bookstore. All places that mean a great deal to her, but somehow host something out to get her.
Logan is a new cop who just happens to meet Cassie in typical cop fashion…she gets a speeding ticket. He has no knowledge that his boss, the sheriff, is also Cassie’s best friend and the closest thing to a relative she has now. Logan is immediately drawn to Cassie, and it slowly reveals itself in a haunting and highly anticipated way. Logan was sent to save Cassie from the demon entity that inhabited a “friend” from her parents’ past. Spooky, right? I thought so too. How do you fight a demon? How do you hold onto the love of your life and the warmth of the past? What happens when that demon is dead set on destroying not only you but everything you thought you could ever want? Cassie knows.
