This was a fantastic collection of stories. WHEN THE STREETLIGHTS CAME ON is a reminiscence of Jerrys life growing up in Detroit. It takes you on a journey to a simpler time when kids could play in the streets with out fear of being kidnapped the only rule being was you had to come home when the street lights come on.
END OF LIFE is a story of a man with a terminally ill spouse, remembering the good times they shared on Christmas Eve.
THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS is much darker than the first 2 stories, and it will make you think of the things you did to deserve whatever was coming to you.
All three stories are touching and told with an element of humor( especially the first one) I give Hidden lives 5 stars for great storytelling by the author.

Call Me Grandpa is a loving and spiritual aspects of being a grandpa. Taking a walk in the snow with his dog, Casey, Grandpa has a conservation with an unseen voice, a Godly voice. As they talk, Grandpa begins to remember his own life and the hard lessons he has learned. To love, respect, honorable attitude, and honest. Through his talk with the Godly voice, Grandpa recalled his own lessons learned. He knows that his grandson needs to learn the same lessons. Grandpa will be there for him m just as God is always there for us, to support and guide if we only listen with a loving heart. Call Me Grandpa is a book everyone should read, it is full of spiritual love and teachings of life and growing into an honorable, honest and respectful adult. The illustrations in the book are wonderful and give an added emphasis on the story. I love this book, I love it so much, I bought a few copy’ to give to my children who are new parents. One I gave to my teen grandchild. I think it is a great way of teaching the younger generation of the values that should be respected and followed. Great book indeed. I read it again today also. I love the pictures, they are awesome.

Adoring and magnificent story!

Call me Grandma is one that will definitely touch your heart. If you are a grandmother, have a grandmother or even haven’t yet become one, this will touch your heart. Now, I am a big fan of Pociask, as he is one remarkable storyteller. I’ve read all of his published work and look forward any more stories that will come from his brilliant mind. He writes with his heart and it shows in his stories. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I think as I read the paperback gift from the author, that it in my hand, turning actual pages, reading and rereading the lines and gazing at the images painted on the pages, I enjoyed it all the more. It’s one of those highly recommended books, and he is one highly recommended author.

I enjoyed all the stories here, but my favorite was the “End Of Life.” From the beginning, I was swept into another universe of feelings, passion, and longing for a love like the one unfolding before my eyes. Walt and Susannah’s love affair was a very, very special one. As I read, I became them in my mind and heart. I felt the emotions of both throughout the story, that feeling is still with me. Oh to share a love like Walt and Susannah share. A love that every woman and man looks for but never finds. Walt and Susannah have this Love. A forever love. A love that is full of passion, full of desire, full of respect, wanting to tend to, care for, protect and cherish for eternity, a forever and after love affair of the heart and soul, a love like no other. Their love is a deep passionate earthly love and the spiritual love that makes them sour into the universe when they connect in a passion of love that sparks every fiber of their bodies. When they first met, they were drawn together with a magical power that was beyond their power to stop, delving into the magical world of love in all its meaning, live every day full of passion, and a true everlasting love affair of the heart and soul. Since I have had the book, I have read “End Of Life” over many times, and each time it is a pleasure. Best darn love story I have ever read. Why not make it into a great movie, I would love to see that. Thank you, Mr. Pociask, for a great story.

WONDERFUL BOOK! LOVE THE CONNECTION TO NATURE!!!!

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the connection to nature and how it speaks to and through us. As a child, we used to spend our summers visiting my grandparents, who lived on a lake, and this immediately conjured up the time we spent together walking along the water’s edge, searching for frogs, watching ducks and skipping stones. These are memories and life lessons never forgotten. Now my parents have the lake house and are creating the same memories with my kids. I’ll be purchasing a hard copy in addition to my Kindle version to give to my parents! Great read!

The book intrigued me when the author was nominated for one of my Best Indie Titles of 2017 awards on my author blog, and the author was nice enough to share the story with me for a review. I know from reading Pociask’s other books, that he shows a good story. He’s one of the better storytellers that I’m familiar with. Here, he shares different short stories, each one bringing in the piece of him that is his work. Every author puts a piece of themselves in their work, whether they know it or not. There were three stories in this collection, “When the Streetlights Went On”, “End of Life” and ” Three Days of Darkness” and my favorite of the three, was the last one. The prologue of the story started out with “One can never prepare for what may happen when they are cold, alone and in total darkness.” Each story engages the reader, and makes you reread sentences and paragraphs over, loving it from beginning to end. (I read the last story twice). Highly recommended.
