Poetry that induces a rich and enlivening read…
By Dodester
The poems in EMOTIONS convey the author’s views about nature, love, relationships, life and death. My usual preference is to read novels and memoirs yet, after my read of the author’s real-life story, ‘Dinky: The Nurse Mare’s Foal,’ I found myself gravitating towards her poetry.
The poetry in EMOTIONS is poignant; the flow of words in each poem induced in me a rich and enlivening experience during my read. Although many of the poems are validations of Ms. Bishop’s personal emotional roller coaster ride due to her life’s experiences, it often felt as if the author was writing about my own. I resonated deeply with “Fire Within,” “Invisibility” and “Lessons of Life”– each triggered vivid memories and gave me pause to reflect on aspects of my own journey through life.
The poems in ‘Nature’ took me into a place of nostalgia, moments when I took more time to pause and listen to the world around me. The poetry in the category, ‘Silly Me,’ took me back into childhood; they are simply delightful.
“Death I Am Not Afraid” and “Life’s Miracles” are two that especially resonate with the person that I am today.

All Carson Reno Mystery Series Books are standalone novels. It is not necessary to read them in any particular order.
The year is 1962 and this small west Tennessee town has been turned upside down by a labor strike at its main manufacturing plant. It seems that, as result of the strike, some very serious underworld crime problems have surfaced in Humboldt. A small town sheriff and small town Chief of Police have their hands full dealing with the strike – when the worst happens – one of the principal figures surrounding the labor problems is murdered.
Carson Reno is very familiar with Humboldt – after all, he grew up and went to high school there. But Carson has a successful private investigation business in Memphis and no desire or reason to get involved. However, circumstances pull him into the turmoil and a situation that grows more dangerous everyday. By trying to not become involved, he becomes deeply involved and ultimately the prime suspect for the Murder in Humboldt.

I really enjoyed the way Darnell handled the period structure of the story. He introduced enough examples of contemporary sights, events, and cultural facts to make the reader feel that she was back there in the time and place he presented. I look forward to the next book in the Carson Reno series.

I really never saw this ending coming, and it had me in tears! Any of Carol Ann Kauffman’s novel are a must read in my opinion!

I have read more than a couple of Carol Ann Kauffman’s Time after Time novels as well as others written by this author. She really knows how to write twists and turns into all her novels! This one really had me glued to the pages.
Brook recognizes Richard even though he is now in the body of the famous race car driver known as the Baslicato–but does not really believe her intuition. She agrees to help him heal so that he can ultimately drive in a major race in Italy. What goes on—well I can’t tell you without giving away the story—Will these lover’s ever find each other in another time and have a happy ending?
I really never saw this ending coming, and it had me in tears!
Any of Carol Ann Kauffman’s novel are a must read in my opinion!
