Author: The Owl Lady

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland. Later, she rewrote this story and was published in the "Polish American Journal" as "From the Pages of Grandfather's Life" and has republished it on Amazon.com as a short story. Viv took creative and journalism courses to help in her transition to fulfill her dream of becoming a writer. She worked as an intern for Port Huron's 'The Times Herald", and also wrote, edited and did the layout or the Blue Water Multiple Sclerosis newsletter "Thumb Prints." She also has a business promoting authors. Owl and Pussycat Book Promotions. Viv, her husband Bob and their cat Princess, live in Port Huron, Michigan.

Great little starter storyThis short story is a good startup to the Charming series written by Ms. Lawrencovna. It’s easy to read and introduces the characters. Kit, a prince whose father wants him married, hasn’t found a bride. Many balls have been arranged, and then he meets someone unexpected. But if you think this is going to be a typical fairy tale, think again.

Terrific short story

Terrific short story. Interesting premise with believable characters. Lettie isn’t particularly sympathetic she’s a little too much of a schemer, but one can certainly sympathize with her plight. Corletta or Lettie grew up in Bethnal Green in a working-class family, and she doesn’t want to end up a drudge like her mother. So she plots and schemes her way into marrying a man who she thought would raise her station in life but in reality not much changes. She comes up with a plan… I don’t want to give away any spoilers I’ll just say in the end she works hard and ends up with what she wants and thinks she deserves plus a little extra. The story was well crafted to draw the listener in, and the narrator was excellent. Her accent was the perfect touch. I requested a review copy of this on Audiobook Boom received a free copy in return for the promise of an unbiased review.

Who doesn’t love a good PI book? Darnell did not disappoint in this story, as he kept the Carson Reno true to himself. Dead Ends is filled with suspense and thrilling action. The characters have a great connection and chemistry, and Reno doesn’t always believe what he is told. That’s the PI in him. This one is a real page-turner, so much that you end up re-reading pages because you are so anxious to get to the next page, but fear you have missed something important. As part of the series of Reno mysteries, it’s not required to read the others, but this book makes you want to go back and read about Reno’s other cases. I have read “Murder and More” and will probably go back and read others when I have the time. I like the point of view from Reno, reminds me of old detective movies, the ones in black and white, with the narration at every turn. Wowzza! What an AMAZING book! I enjoyed reading this book from start to finish. I did not want to put it down. I can not wait to read more from this amazing author. Momma’s story. A true tale of survival. Barbi Barnard tells of overcoming evil to find the good. A must read!I really loved this book. I hurt for Elizabeth, cried for Elizabeth, got pissed off for her. The journey to her past was hard to read, but now I understand what made her the wonderful woman she is today. The men and romance of the story were perfect. She deserves to have love and kindness in abundance. I truly hope we see more of these characters! There is so much more story for them all. Greg, Match, Jenni, Wayne, Tiffi, Nick, and all the other characters in Momma’s life. The crossover with L. Ann Marie’s MC and Prince’s series was a pleasant surprise. Loved this book!
