Author: The Owl Lady

Viv Drewa is a Michigan native who has enjoyed reading and writing since 1963. Though she studied medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan, her passion has always been writing. She had been awarded third place for her nonfiction short story about her grandfather's escape from Poland. Later, she rewrote this story and was published in the "Polish American Journal" as "From the Pages of Grandfather's Life" and has republished it on Amazon.com as a short story. Viv took creative and journalism courses to help in her transition to fulfill her dream of becoming a writer. She worked as an intern for Port Huron's 'The Times Herald", and also wrote, edited and did the layout or the Blue Water Multiple Sclerosis newsletter "Thumb Prints." She also has a business promoting authors. Owl and Pussycat Book Promotions. Viv, her husband Bob and their cat Princess, live in Port Huron, Michigan.

Read the whole series! Worth it!

Deep! Deeeeeep! This guy had issues and I’m telling you they were believable. This is the first book I read from the guy’s view that was believable and not a repeat of the first book of the girl’s view. I hated Jax in the first book but this completely forgave him in my eyes. I’m so going yo marry this guy!

Hold On To Your Hearts

Quite an amazing story filled with love, heartbreak, mystery, suspense, and did I mention love. This book is very well written and just the way I like them, not that much filler but just enough descriptions to give you what you need at the moment. (I really dislike a bunch of descriptions). The storyline is wonderful and quite sad at the beginning, with some really touching moments in-between. I loved the premise of this story and was not surprised at the outcome but loved it just the same and was extremely happy with it. The characters are so very well developed and a bit complex given their past, but I loved them so very much. His heartbreak, her amnesia! They are wonderful, the supporting characters are just as wonderful. I just finished reading this book this morning and the feelings are still with me. I loved this book so much that I may just read it again very soon.

5 glowing stars from me!

Having eagerly read Blood Master, I simply had to read this story too, especially knowing how imaginative and emotional this author’s creative mind was likely to be. Her stories ooze with great insight into the dynamics between characters while her imagination is just on full throttle, adding so much essence to the plot.
The story is like a layered cake, with Griffin and Tassta’s romance simply added as a delicious icing on the top for me…my goodness, I swooned. But, the romantic part did not distract me from the suspenseful segments of the story.
Just like in the Blood Master, the characters in Blood Phase are well-established and easily refreshed my recall of them so clearly in my head. Almost as if I was in the story, I got so caught up in it and I was compelled by my urges to read the story until I finished it, with the sun slowly peeking over the horizon in the morning.
I can’t wait to read the next sequel!!! I hope they make a movie of this story…Imagine watching it in 3D! *swoons*

Uplifting Cards

These cards are full of kind and loving energy. Every time I shuffle them and pick a card it is a message that inspires me and helps me feel better about what is going on in my life. They are very uplifting. The artwork is sweet and the card stock is good. The information in the little booklet that comes with the cards is easy to understand and there isn’t too much or too little written about each card. I like these cards very much.

Amazingly good series

The much-anticipated sequel to Viral Dawn is here! And it was sooo worth the wait! This is such an amazing series. I could see it being a tv series or movies, they are so well written. The characters are so well written that you get so invested in them and their stories.
I could not put this book down. I read it straight through in one sitting, it sucks you in and you have to know what’s going to happen next. Casey is such a strong character. She’s been put through the wringer but still manages to rise up and keep pushing through. I love that in this one you also get other characters POV.
I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a good zombie book. It’s labeled as YA but honestly, adults would love it too. Book 3 can not come soon enough!

Another book by Darnell that I couldn’t put down!
I became a fan of Gerald W. Darnell’s Carson Reno Mysteries after I read the first book!
His characters are believable and interesting to follow in his books.
“The Price of Beauty in Strawberry Land” has twists and turns that keep you wanting more. It is a book I had trouble putting down because I had to know what was going to happen next.
I encourage everyone to read this, and the other books, by Gerald W. Darnell.

Suspenseful and endearing

I really enjoyed the second book in this series. You could read it as a standalone as well. When Nina and her daughter Emily see her father killed they run for their lives. Jacob a good friend who is a cop goes after them. On the way up Vail mountain, the bad guys catch up to Nina and Emily. Rob lives on the mountain and helps with search and rescue missions. You need to read this book. I think the book was suspenseful and endearing. I enjoyed reading it very much.
